Arsenal has agreed N’Golo Kante shock two-year deal
According to recent reports, Arsenal is making a move to bring in N’Golo Kante, a World Cup winner, on a two-year deal from their London rivals Chelsea. The Gunners have reportedly offered Kante a contract extension to remain in London beyond his current deal with the Blues.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Interestingly, Arsenal had expressed interest in Kante even before he joined Leicester City, while he was still playing in France. The then-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had a contact in Suresnes, a Paris-based club, who recommended the midfielder to him. Wenger’s friend had claimed that Kante was an exceptional player who was being overlooked by French clubs. The Arsenal boss was eventually convinced and Kante was signed by a third-division club in France.
Now, Fichajes, a Spain-based publication, reports that Kante has agreed to join Arsenal after his Chelsea contract ends this summer. The report suggests that the midfielder has offers from both England and Spain, but he is keen to remain in London. Ironically, Kante could potentially take over the midfield position of Granit Xhaka, who was purchased by Arsenal in 2016 instead of Kante.
Xhaka has been an integral part of the Gunners midfield, and his presence has been felt as a No.8 who can also contribute to attacks. Similarly, Kante started as a defensive midfielder at Chelsea but has since evolved to become more of an attacking threat.
Despite the reports of Kante’s imminent move to Arsenal, there is no guarantee that the deal will go through. Manager Mikel Arteta may decide to sign another midfielder, while Kante himself may choose to play for a different club.
