It was once more rumored that Chelsea had formally confirmed the acquisition of Omari Hutchinson, a young player from Arsenal.
Hutchinson spent all of his time at the Arsenal youth and never played for the first squad. The youthful midfielder, who grew up at Charlton but now plays for Arsenal, is well regarded by the team.
Even so, Hutchinson was sold to a Premier League opponent, with Chelsea formally announcing their signing of the Arsenal youngster.
Hutchinson, who is only 18 years old, has already played for Jamaica’s senior squad. Hutchinson had previously played for England’s young teams, but he has now decided to play for Jamaica.
Hutchinson leaving the club comes as a surprise because Arsenal has a history of giving youthful players an opportunity in the first team. In the whole Premier League past season, Arsenal’s average age was the lowest.
Hutchinson should have moved to Chelsea if he couldn’t see a clear path to the first team for himself. Hutchinson’s chances of playing for Chelsea’s senior team in the upcoming season are slim, but the young star will be looking to win over Thomas Tuchel in the coming years.
