Andreas Christensen, a defender for Chelsea, has left the club as a free agent following a decade with the club.
Christensen has allegedly signed terms with Barcelona as a free agent after opting out of a new deal with Chelsea.
Due to the club’s persistent financial difficulty, Barcelona has yet to confirm Christensen’s transfer.
Christensen, for one, has opted to stay tight-lipped about his next course of action, while lavishing praise on Barcelona.
After Denmark’s victory over Austria, Christensen informed reporters, “I know where I have to play.”
“Unfortunately, it’s not totally up to me [the date of the announcement],” Christensen remarked when asked where he will be playing next season. There are also a few additional things that must be in place.
“I’m hoping for soon.” But I’ve known what I’m going to do for quite some time. “All I have to do now is wait until the appropriate moment.”
When a reporter inquired about Barcelona, Christensen said with a wry smile, “It is one of the biggest clubs in Europe.” I believe it is for everyone – whether or not they have had troubles, it is still one of the most prestigious clubs for a player to join.”
