Reports suggest that Moises Caicedo has been overheard telling Brighton supporters that he wants to leave the club, although he did not directly mention the team he wishes to join. The Ecuadorian midfielder, who recently received the award for player of the season for his outstanding performances, has been linked to Chelsea amid ongoing negotiations.
Caicedo’s impressive contributions have made him a target for Chelsea, and he was described as “incredible” by his teammate Adam Lallana for his role in helping Brighton qualify for European football.
While personal terms between Caicedo and Chelsea are reportedly agreed upon, negotiations have hit a stumbling block as Brighton has rejected multiple bids for his transfer. It was previously suggested that Brighton was interested in including defender Levi Colwill in the deal, but Colwill has apparently signed a new contract with Chelsea.
Chelsea fans may view Colwill’s contract extension as a positive move, but the situation regarding Caicedo’s potential transfer remains uncertain and could impact Chelsea’s summer transfer business.
