Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel chose to pull Marcos Alonso off at halftime against Wolves, replacing him with Saul Niguez.
After the game, Tuchel confessed that he pulled Alonso off for tactical reasons.
According to reporter Nathan Gissing, Alonso was pulled off following a heated altercation with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at halftime. Tuchel was said to have lost his cool with Alonso, who had lost control just before halftime and was tardy in regaining possession.
Chelsea have denied any altercation between Alonso and Tuchel in the dressing room during the half-time break, according to The Sun.
According to The Sun, Alonso felt that he was being blamed for the team’s poor performance.
According to the article, Thomas Tuchel is spending additional time in training with his players as he prepares them for the FA Cup final.
