According to recent reports, Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic has declined to guarantee his future with the club, but claims he is ‘eager’ to go ahead after meeting with Todd Boehly, the club’s new owner.
After falling down Thomas Tuchel’s pecking order at Stamford Bridge, Pulisic, 23, has been extensively linked with a transfer away from Chelsea.
Last season, the United States international only started 13 of Chelsea’s 38 Premier League games, but he has piqued Juventus’ attention.
Since joining Chelsea for £58 million from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, Pulisic has scored 25 goals in 115 games.
With Chelsea, he has won the Champions League, Club World Cup, and Super Cup, but he is still battling for a starting spot.
“As far as right now, I am clearly just focused on what I am doing here,” Pulisic, who is presently on international duty, said during his pre-match news conference ahead of the United States’ friendly against Morocco on Wednesday. And I’m really looking forward to being here. That’s all there is to it.
“Of course, I’d want to see more action. I want to be on the field as often as possible, and I want to be as sharp and fit as possible.
“I believe I still have a lot of games left,” he says, “but it’s always something I’m working on and trying to be consistent at club level to put myself in the best position to be fit when I come here with the national team.”
“We were able to meet with them [Chelsea’s new owner] towards the conclusion of the season, and they were around the club a lot,” he continued.
“They’re incredibly kind individuals, so I’m looking forward to working with them.”
