According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan will now turn their attention to Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun after walking away from a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
The Romelu Lukaku transfer saga has taken a dramatic turn, with Inter Milan withdrawing their £34 million offer and informing Lukaku that they won’t be bringing him back to the San Siro. It has been revealed that Lukaku has been secretly negotiating a potential transfer with Juventus, causing anger from Inter Milan.
However, this development may also impact Chelsea’s pursuit of another target, as Inter Milan are now reportedly interested in Folarin Balogun. Romano stated on Twitter that Inter Milan will discuss the final conditions of the Balogun deal early next week. Balogun is open to a permanent move, but Arsenal is expected to request a significant fee for the 22-year-old striker.
There have been previous reports linking Chelsea with an interest in Balogun, with talks reportedly initiated between the two London rivals. Arsenal is said to value Balogun at £35 million after his impressive loan spell at Reims, where he scored 22 goals in 39 appearances.
It remains to be seen where Balogun, who is also a United States international, will be playing his football next season, as negotiations between Inter Milan and Arsenal continue.
