Saul Niguez, who has had little playing experience recently, was brought in for the second half and had a poor performance.
At halftime, Marcos Alonso and Thomas Tuchel had a “heated discussion,” prompting the move, and rumors now claim that his time at Chelsea is all but finished.
“Marcos was not hurt,” Tuchel stated. “It was just a decision we made.”
Tuchel was said to be dissatisfied with the 31-year-first-half old’s performance, prompting the Chelsea manager to yell at the left wing-back and demand more. Alonso would then lash out at the German, sparking a violent argument.
Alonso is in his final year at Chelsea, and Barcelona are interested in signing him. Tuchel is reportedly considering signing a back-up left wing-back at the conclusion of the season, with Ben Chilwell due to return at the start of next season.
