Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Just over an hour after the Champions League group stage match began, the 23-year-old attacker drew everyone’s attention.
Raheem Sterling and debutant Denis Zakaria scored goals in the first half to put the hosts at Stamford Bridge ahead of Graham Potter’s team.
Prior to Wednesday’s game, the Blues had already won their group, but they sealed it with a good showing that gave them some momentum heading into Sunday’s match against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Against Dinamo Zagreb, Kai Havertz
Sherwood, a Sky Sports analyst, praised Chelsea’s attacker for his performance against Dinamo Zagreb.
The German attacker was granted permission to move freely between the No. 10 and No. 9 positions on the field while playing a significant role in many of the team’s offensive formations.
Sherwood told Sky Sports, “Havertz has performed brilliantly tonight” (9:22pm, 2 November).
He is a thoughtful football player, and I believe he enjoys the Champions League’s fast pace.
Given that he scored in each of the previous two games prior to tonight’s, Havertz appears to be beginning a brief period of good form.
While he failed to score against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, he does appear to be a player who has some confidence in his own abilities at the moment.
Chelsea tonight delivered a much-needed response and performance.
They will need to perform at their highest levels to defeat a good Arsenal team this coming weekend, but they do have enough talented people.
Havertz watched it against Dinamo Zagreb along with a few of his colleagues. For instance, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s performance against the Croatians was praised by Scott Minto.
Let’s hope that this is the beginning of another extended unbeaten streak for Potter.
