Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, on the other hand, has stated that things would be different next season since certain crucial additions must be made during the summer and other tactical deficiencies will be addressed.
“Of course, I believe we can perform better,” Tuchel said ahead of the last Premier League match of the season on Sunday.
“It’s not by much; there are little margins, but we’re excited about the upcoming season.” Because I don’t have all the answers, now is not the time to analyze everything from this season.
“There are certain things that we would have altered anyhow.” Against teams who defend deep, we’ve certainly battled with efficiency, goal-scoring records, consistency, resolve, and precision in the box. There are several examples of this.
“It never stopped for us, so maybe it simply has to adjust that we have everyone accessible where we can,” he said. “It’s difficult when you play so many games, and it’s the same for all the best clubs.”
“If you look at the elite teams, they seek to offset this by strengthening their current squads. Man City have signed [Erling] Haaland for next season to strengthen them after signing a terrific player [Luis Diaz] in January.
“We’re losing guys, so my focus right now is on building a good squad and seeing what’s feasible, and then we’ll look about how to bridge the gap to the top.”
