Tuchel will have another summer to improve his team, and former Blue Pat Nevin thinks we’ll get to see more of the German coach.
“It actually seems like a terrific chance for Tuchel to make his stamp on the group even more than he has been able to do up until now,” he wrote in his blog for the official Chelsea website.
“Most managers will tell you that getting the team you truly want, one that can accomplish precisely what you need it to do, can take two or three seasons. Not many managers have that much time or have the financial resources to back up their ideas.
“This summer’s transfer window will reveal a lot about Tuchel and his goals, as well as the club’s goals, and our capacity to compete on the European and global stages while also matching the manager’s vision for the future.”
“Once the ownership problem is sorted and the replacements for departing players, particularly at the back, are unveiled, the new approach will become evident pretty soon.”
