“These two play as if we don’t sign them” – Poch exposes who to blame for Chelsea’s loss to Nottingham Forest
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, expressed his frustration with Moises Caicedo and Thiago Silva following Chelsea’s 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. Pochettino attributed the loss to mistakes made by both players, which ultimately led to the only goal of the match, scored by Anthony Elanga in the 48th minute.
The sequence that resulted in the goal began when Caicedo received the ball in his own half. However, a poor and heavy touch by Caicedo led to him losing possession. This error allowed Taiwo Awoniyi to advance and deliver a pass to Elanga, with the ball passing between Silva’s legs before the Swedish player fired it into the net.
Pochettino’s frustration stemmed from these individual errors that proved costly for Chelsea in the match against Nottingham Forest.
‘We made one mistake and we cannot make it,’ Pochettino said. ‘That is why we feel really disappointed.
‘Football is about not making mistakes. We made one mistake and we paid for that.’
Pochettino also highlighted that Chelsea was not clinical enough and bemoaned his side’s lack of goals.
‘We created many chances but we did not score,’ he added. ‘This Premier League is really competitive if you don’t score it is difficult to win.
‘They didn’t create many chances. We conceded because of our mistake. Disappointed because it was a game that should be a win but we need to be more clinical in front of the goal. We didn’t score and that is why we didn’t win.
‘Congratulations to them but we were disappointed because we could not break down their low block.’
