“He needs freedom” – Poch change position for Chelsea star
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino plans to use Enzo Fernandez in a more attacking role to help kickstart the £107 million midfielder’s career at Stamford Bridge. Pochettino believes that Fernandez is better suited to a No8 position and wants to give him more freedom to assist and take shots from outside the box. Pochettino is also confident that Moises Caicedo, the £115 million signing from Brighton, has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League but acknowledges that he still has room for improvement. Caicedo is expected to start in Chelsea’s upcoming match against Luton Town.
“He needs some freedoms. He has the quality to assist, to shoot from outside the box.”
Another player Pochettino is tasked with getting the best out of is Moises Caicedo. The £115m arrival from Brighton endured a torrid debut off the bench at West Ham but is expected to start at home to Luton tonight.
The Chelsea boss is adamant that Caicedo still has some way to go before reaching the level of midfield greats such as N’Golo Kante.
“I never worked with Kante but [Caicedo] is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League,” he noted.
“He has some similar characteristics to Kante but Moises is still young and needs to work really hard to improve in different areas. But he has the potential to be one of the best.”
