According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Chelsea is currently evaluating their options regarding the potential signing of Moises Caicedo. They have made multiple bids for the Ecuador international, but all have been rejected by Brighton.

The latest bid, reported to be around £80 million, was immediately turned down by Brighton, who values Caicedo at approximately £100 million. As negotiations with Brighton have not been fruitful so far, Chelsea is now faced with a decision on whether to make an improved offer for Caicedo or explore other midfield targets.

Chelsea’s midfield depth has been depleted with the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, making the signing of a quality midfielder a priority for the club. However, if the Caicedo deal does not progress, they may have to consider alternative options.

One potential target being considered is Romeo Lavia from Southampton, but it is suggested that Liverpool’s pursuit of Lavia may be more advanced, making it challenging for Chelsea to hijack the transfer.
