‘Brilliant’ Predicted Chelsea starting lineup vs Brighton as Mauricio Pochettino unveils plan
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to rely on the youthful talent in the Chelsea squad for their upcoming match against Brighton at the Lincoln Field Stadium in Philadelphia. The Premier League Summer Series is set to begin, and Chelsea will also face Newcastle and Fulham later in the month.
In their previous game, Chelsea played with a team that included seven players aged 20 or younger, and six of them had never made a senior appearance for the club. However, some of these players may have a limited role or may not be in the squad for the match against Brighton.
Pochettino mentioned that he plans to mix up the squad and give opportunities to different players during the pre-season tour. Some senior players might be rested, while younger players will continue to get a chance to play.
There could be some rotation in the goalkeeper position, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Eddie Beach waiting for their turn, as Jamie Cumming started in the previous game.
Malo Gusto is expected to start the match, while Reece James may be on the bench as he recently arrived in the USA. Trevoh Chalobah might also be on the bench due to a small Achilles issue in the previous game, and Thiago Silva could come in if he is fit. Bashir Humphreys is likely to start once again.
In midfield, Andrey Santos, Cesare Casadei, and Carney Chukwuemeka will compete for spots, with Lewis Hall and Conor Gallagher pushing for opportunities. Ian Maatsen and Angelo Gabriel are expected to feature, with Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku competing for the forward position.
Predicted Chelsea XI: Kepa; Gusto, Silva, Humphreys, Chilwell, Santos, Casadei, Chukwuemeka; Angelo, Jackson, Maatsen.
