After Chelsea’s 5-0 victory against Wrexham in a pre-season friendly, Wrexham owner and Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney sent a message to Chelsea on Twitter. He thanked Chelsea for the game and hinted that he hopes to see them again as a Premier League side in a few years’ time.
The match was seen as a perfect evening for Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, who challenged the younger members of his squad to impress in their first opportunities under him. The young players showcased their skills, earning praise from opponents and pundits alike.
However, there was a piece of bad news for Chelsea as captain Trevoh Chalobah was forced off with an apparent Achilles injury. With Wesley Fofana already facing a serious injury, Chelsea will need to be cautious with their defensive options.
Overall, McElhenney’s message was respectful and showed appreciation for Chelsea’s performance in the match.
He said: “Thank you Chelsea !!!! Hopefully we’ll see you again in 5 years or so :)”
