Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Frank Lampard has revealed that he had a strong desire to sign Declan Rice during his tenure as Chelsea manager. In an interview on Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary of a CEO’ podcast, Lampard expressed his plans to make Rice the long-term captain of the club. However, it appears that Rice is now on the verge of joining Arsenal in a record-breaking deal worth around £100 million.
Despite Chelsea being considered the favorites to sign Rice due to his previous connection to the club’s academy and his friendship with Mason Mount, Arsenal has emerged as the likely destination for the midfielder. Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s current manager, had also expressed interest in signing Rice this summer but may now be focusing on other midfield targets.
Chelsea’s attention has shifted to pursuing a deal for Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with discussions ongoing between the two clubs for a high-value transfer.
