According to a report from The Evening Standard, Chelsea has reached an agreement with Trevoh Chalobah that they will sell him this summer if they receive a suitable transfer offer. The club is reportedly open to listening to any offers for the 24-year-old center-back, who currently finds himself as the fifth-choice option in that position at Stamford Bridge.
Inter Milan is said to be interested in signing Chalobah, with the defender valued at around £25 million. Other clubs are also reportedly keen on making an offer for him. Chalobah has been in good spirits during training under new Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino, but he desires regular first-team action. The player has agreed with the club that he may be sold if the right fee is received.
While Chalobah has come through the Chelsea academy and has a strong connection to the club, his path to the starting lineup is currently blocked due to the presence of top-quality center-backs such as Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill.
It is commendable that Chalobah has remained professional and continued to train well at Cobham during pre-season, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future. Newcastle United has reportedly shown interest in signing him.
Whether Chalobah will be playing in Italy or England next season remains to be seen. However, he is considered to have a promising future ahead of him, even if it may not be in the colors of Chelsea.
