£150,000-a-week player agreed terms to leave Chelsea back in March, deal now close
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to Calciomercato, Christian Pulisic agreed to join AC Milan back in March, and the move is now set to happen this summer.
AC Milan has been keen to sign the United States international, and there is confidence that Chelsea will accept the latest bid, reported to be worth €20 million (£17 million) including add-ons. Initially, AC Milan’s offer of €14 million (£12 million) was rejected by Chelsea.
Pulisic is reportedly putting pressure on Chelsea to allow him to leave, as he is said to be frustrated with his situation in west London, according to the Evening Standard. AC Milan is optimistic about signing the player due to their good relationship with Chelsea, which has seen successful deals for Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the past.
Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s head coach, is reportedly keen to offload Pulisic, along with Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the transfer window closes. Pochettino wants a group of players fully committed to Chelsea and is not willing to keep those who seek moves away. If any of the four players fail to secure transfers, Pochettino may consider creating a separate B team for them to keep them separated from the first team.
The situation is developing, and it will be interesting to see if AC Milan can finalize the signing of Pulisic.
