‘he’s not part of the plan we have a replacement already’ Chelsea is now ‘set to sell’ £119,000-a-week man and bring in £14m player replacement
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is set to sell Malang Sarr and Baba Rahman this summer as part of their squad overhaul. Romano confirmed that the club is looking for permanent solutions and both players are on the market.
Malang Sarr, who was on loan at Monaco last season, will not be signed permanently by the French club. Chelsea now needs to find a new club for the 24-year-old defender. Sarr’s chances to impress at Monaco were hindered by a muscular abdominal injury.
Baba Rahman, the Ghanaian international who was signed by Chelsea for £14 million, spent last season on loan at Reading. However, following their relegation to League One, it is unlikely that Reading will sign him permanently.
In terms of urgency, Chelsea should prioritize selling Baba Rahman as he only has one year left on his contract. This summer represents the last opportunity for the club to recoup a decent fee for him before he becomes a free agent at the end of next season. On the other hand, Malang Sarr’s contract expires in June 2025, giving Chelsea more time to find him a new permanent home without his value decreasing rapidly.
It remains to be seen where Sarr and Baba Rahman will end up, but it appears that they have no future at Stamford Bridge.
