Tuchel identifies two things Chelsea must do in order to regain their winning ways, and offers a report on Kovacic
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! After putting in the performance they needed to get back on track, Thomas Tuchel praised Chelsea’s “concentration and great energy” against Leeds United.
With a convincing win at Elland Road, Chelsea moved closer to Champions League qualifying. Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Romelu Lukaku all scored in the win over relegation-threatened Leeds.
Chelsea’s participation in Europe’s premier league might now be assured before they kick a ball again. Tottenham will not be able to catch Chelsea or Arsenal in the top four if they lose at Arsenal on Thursday.
Chelsea will be relieved after a three-game losing streak had them looking over their shoulders.
They’re back on track now, with an FA Cup final and their last two league games on the horizon.
Their manager praised them for their positive approach in overcoming their current slump.
“We needed a performance like that,” Tuchel told Sky Sports. We deserved to be victorious. That is the most important message.
“Right from the outset, we were terrific and maintained our focus and high intensity.”
After a weekend draw with Wolves, it was the proper reply. That was only after they were tied in the 97th minute.
Tuchel spoke with his players after the loss, and they rewarded him with a strong performance against Leeds.
“After the late equaliser against Wolves, we cleared the air,” he said. We were aware of what lay ahead. We had plenty of reasons to believe in ourselves.
“The players performed admirably. They deserve full credit.
“We’ll go into the FA Cup final with a clean head since we completed our tasks this week.” “Exciting news.”
Before the FA Cup final, Tuchel offers Kovacic an update.
Chelsea’s next obligation, as Tuchel mentioned, is the FA Cup final against Liverpool on Saturday evening. It provides them another chance to win a trophy after losing to the Reds in the Carabao Cup final earlier this season.
During his tenure with Chelsea, Tuchel has won the Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
However, he did state ahead of the FA Cup final that Mateo Kovacic is unlikely to be available. After being fouled by Daniel James, who was sent off, he was forced to leave the field.
“I tell you not as a coach or an expert, but I don’t think we’ll see him [in the FA Cup final],” Tuchel said.
Aside from his team selection, the manager will have a lot on his mind.
