After making bold decision over Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho breaks silence
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Jose Mourinho has responded to reports that he turned down an approach from Chelsea to return for a third stint as manager at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho enjoyed two successful spells at the club, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and three League Cups.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has sacked two managers this season, including Graham Potter, who was dismissed just six months after replacing Thomas Tuchel. Frank Lampard has since taken over as caretaker manager and recently secured his first victory against Bournemouth after a string of six consecutive defeats.
Mauricio Pochettino is currently the favorite to become Chelsea’s head coach for next season after Julian Nagelsmann withdrew from the running. Sources suggest that positive talks have taken place between Chelsea and Pochettino, but no agreement has been reached yet.
Reports indicate that Boehly will make a final decision on the next managerial appointment this week, with Pochettino expected to be the chosen one. Mourinho, on the other hand, has left the door open for a potential exit from his current team, Roma.
When questioned about his future, Mourinho stated that he does not talk to friends, comrades, or journalists. He explained that from a contractual point of view, he still has one year remaining on his contract and that football is unpredictable.
Despite Mourinho’s successful track record at Chelsea, it seems unlikely that he will return to the club for a third stint as manager. With Pochettino being the favorite, Chelsea fans will be eagerly waiting to see who will take over as head coach for the next season.
