A player criticizes former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, claiming he disregarded the player’s accomplishments and favored Lukaku over him

Werner was a frequent starter as Chelsea won the Champions League, but after Lukaku joined Chelsea the following season, Werner slipped down the pecking order.
The major issue, according to Werner, was that after I practically played every game in the first squad and won the Champions League, he put a striker like Lukaku in front of me in the second season.
Werner also discussed how Tuchel had forgotten about his achievements in Germany before moving to the Premier League.
Werner continued, “When you come from the kind of success I had in Germany or with Chelsea – playing almost every game in the first season, winning the Champions League in 2021, scoring in the semi-final against Real Madrid, making a lot of goals – that’s when you know what success looks like.”
The management then seems to have forgotten a bit of what had happened, which was unfair. To regain the enjoyment, I had to return to Leipzig, which was another motivation.
“I no longer felt that, but in order to succeed, you must.
“A manager will ultimately favour some players over others; this is entirely normal and something you must accept.
“Maybe, but ultimately all I wanted was to leave.”
Werner scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists in 89 appearances for Chelsea, but he was most effective there, scoring eight goals in 17 games.
