Why did he keep him for that long with Fofana on the bench – Chelsea is too calm for a team – don’t ever let him play again – fed up fans blast Chelsea star
Graham Potter addressed the media following Chelsea’s draw with West Ham. When asked about the disputed penalty, he responded by saying, “I only caught a brief glimpse of it as I was walking by, but it looked like one of those calls that might not have been overturned if it was given. However, since it wasn’t given, I don’t have much to say about it. I thought it was a good save from the goalkeeper.”
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! Why did he keep Havertz for that long with Fofana on the bench? Fofana isn't in the Champions League squad either so he deserved minutes.

Regarding the level of frustration from the result, Potter stated, “Of course, you always want a win, but we can’t just wait for luck to come our way. We have to work hard and earn it. I thought we started the first half positively, with good attacking intent and some good opportunities. We lost control for a brief period and then conceded, which we could have done better with. That changed the dynamic of the game, but overall I thought our first-half performance was quite positive.”
The second half of the game is a reflection of where we currently stand as a team, considering the players returning from injury and adapting to the Premier League. It’s a work in progress, but it was a step forward from our previous game.

When asked about the team gelling together, Potter said, “Today was a step forward. We started the game well performance-wise. Of course, conceding a goal is always tough, but it’s something we can learn from and do better in the future. Overall, it was a step forward from last week.”
Regarding the handball that was reviewed by VAR, Potter commented, “It looked like a handball to me, but I was impressed by Tomas’s ability to get down that easily and make a great save. As for the VAR decision, it’s not for me to say.”

When asked about seeking consistency, Potter replied, “It’s not possible to have complete consistency because every individual is unique and every decision they make will differ. Sometimes things will go our way and sometimes they won’t. We just have to accept that.”
Regarding the reaction of supporters towards Marc Cucurella, Potter said, “The supporters are entitled to their opinions and they just want the team to do well. Marc is going through a tough time right now, but he’s still a valuable player who has contributed to clean sheets against tough opponents like Anfield and Fulham. Another Premier League club was interested in signing him over the summer, which speaks to his ability. We need to stick together and help him get through this rough patch. While the supporters are entitled to their opinions, I have nothing negative to say about it.”
Sometimes the team just doesn't know what they are doing. It doesn't make any sense how we always play the ball at the back instead of moving forward. The back passes is just too much. So annoying to watch

how do you feel about fitting all the new signings into the team?
It’s a challenge, but that’s part of my job as a manager. It’s exciting to see the potential of the team, but it also requires effective communication and management to ensure everything runs smoothly. The training this week has been great and the team spirit is high. There’s healthy competition for starting positions, which pushes everyone to improve. However, we have to have honest conversations and respect the fact that some players may be disappointed with not starting. These are top professionals and they handle themselves well.
HALF TIME THOUGHTS.
• Joao Felix is a blessing.
• Enzo is a beast.
• Mount should never start for Chelsea.
• Loftus Cheek is terrible and can’t improve.
• Havertz is so horrible.
• Madueke did well.
• Badiashile was so solid.— OTUNBA (@ManLikeIcey) February 11, 2023
What do you think about Chelsea fans’ reaction?
Fans are entitled to their opinions and it’s understandable that they are disappointed when we don’t win. From a performance standpoint, I believe today was a step forward for us and you can see the potential and quality of the team. However, we need to work on getting some of our new players up to speed, such as Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, as well as adapting to the Premier League for players like Mudryk, Madueke, Benoit Badiashile, and Joao Felix.
Chelsea is too calm for a team that’s in 9th place and wants to move upwards. I think the calm attitude of potter have translated into these players. No one is in a hurry to make anything happen.

Can you discuss the creativity in the first 20-25 minutes and the options Felix brings to the team?
Get Cucarella off that pitch and don’t ever let him play again

During the first half, you could see the potential and quality of the team. Unfortunately, in the Premier League, you can’t control everything all of the time. The disappointment came from the fact that the first goal allowed West Ham to get back into the game too easily, and that’s something we need to learn from. The second half was more of a reflection of the work we need to do as a team. Felix brings a new set of options to the team, and you can see the potential in the first half, but it’s about being consistent and not conceding cheaply.
