When Chelsea plays West Ham United at the London Stadium, they’ll be trying to pick up a crucial win in their waning quest for a top-four finish.
Joao Felix is back in the starting lineup for Chelsea after serving a three-match suspension for this afternoon’s Premier League encounter against West Ham United at the London Stadium. This is one of three changes made by Graham Potter to his team.
In order to preserve their tenuous chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League, Chelsea must prevail at the London Stadium. Additionally, Potter has chosen to start five of the Blues’ January acquisitions.
Kepa Arrizabalaga holds his spot in the starting XI since Edouard Mendy, who had surgery last month to treat a fractured finger, is still out injured. The back four of Reece James, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, and Marc Cucurella will defend the Spaniard.
Enzo Fernandez, who made his debut last week against Fulham, holds his spot in the Chelsea midfield and will likely team up with Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a double-six. Since suffering a calf injury against Newcastle United in November, the academy graduate has not played.
At the London Stadium, Noni Madueke will play in his first full game for Chelsea. Felix will start in the number ten position, and Mykhailo Mudryk will remain on the left side of the frontline despite playing with illness against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
Kai Havertz will lead the attack once more and there will be pressure on the German to deliver a big performance with David Datro Fofana performing well off the bench last time out
Chelsea: Kepa; James, SIlva, Badiashile, Cucurella; Enzo, Loftus-Cheek; Madueke, Felix, Mudryk; Havertz
Chelsea substitutes: Bettinelli, Azpilicueta, Chilwell, Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Gallagher, Mount, Ziyech, Fofana
