According to Danny Murphy, Joao Felix is a superior athlete over Kai Havertz, a new colleague for Joao Felix at Chelsea.
Felix, age 23, finished yesterday signing a loan agreement to play for Chelsea after leaving Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese forward is making his professional debut in the Premier League, and Blues head coach Graham Potter claims that he is physically prepared to get right to work.
He’ll be trying to give Chelsea’s assault some much-needed firepower.
Havertz, a 23-year-old forward who has scored five goals in 24 games this season, is just one of many players on the club who are currently struggling to perform at their best.
greater than Kai Havertz is Joao Felix
Danny Murphy, a TalkSPORT analyst, remarked that he would choose Felix over Havertz in a head-to-head matchup.
In response to a question about Felix joining Chelsea, Murphy spoke to talkSPORT. “I’d put him in front of [Hakim] Ziyech. He would be my choice to start over [Christian] Pulisic. Although they are pretty comparable, I would definitely rank him higher than Havertz. Their alternatives will be better thanks to him, but only broadly.
To be honest, 23-year-olds Havertz and Felix are two of the most talented athletes in the sport.
Getting both of them to produce at their peak in the same XI will be challenging for Potter, as it has been with Havertz thus far.
Both are most effective when they can receive the ball in between the lines and create danger in tight spaces, although Havertz has recently displayed some signs of discomfort playing as the center forward.
Felix needs room to express himself, so let’s hope the Blues system doesn’t compel him to stick out too far.
