Graham Potter receives Chelsea support after Todd Boehly decision as Kai Havertz
News from Chelsea: Despite a dismal run of play, Graham Potter is still supported, while Kai Havertz faces criticism for his part in the most recent defeat.

His team had a terrible run of play, has fallen in the league standings, and was eliminated by Manchester City from both domestic cups. Chelsea is yet to defeat a top-10 opponent almost halfway through the season.
Thomas Tuchel, who finished with 10 points from six games, oversaw some of this. The Blues are stuck in 10th position thanks to Potter, who has 15 points from his next 11 games, including only one victory in a stretch of seven games. Due to Tuchel’s popularity and success with a team that had previously performed poorly, a divided audience has already begun to turn against Potter.
The three best players in his current roster are presently sidelined due to three injuries, and despite this, Chelsea has performed much below expectations this season, and things are starting to get nasty. In a time of transition, Potter has already faced a lot of backlash for his performance, but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has defended him.
“It’s way too soon for fans to be asking for Graham Potter to quit Chelsea and it’s not fair,” the former striker told Betway. Naturally, Potter would adopt a similar stance and would get Todd Boehly’s backing as well. But persuading supporters is another story.
Hasselbaink continued, “He’s inherited this squad and the difficulties at Chelsea were there already before Potter became manager. Chelsea does need results, that’s the main issue right now. Potter needs time, and the fans need to be patient and allow someone else to do the job. You can play well and lose to Man City at home, but you can’t play well and draw to Nottingham Forest. The issue is that.”
With a trip to nearby Fulham next, there will be a minor letdown after back-to-back contests against the league champions. As things stand, the Cottagers are ahead of Chelsea, and Hasselbaink believes that the club needs to be more inventive to succeed. When questioned about perhaps sabotaging Arsenal’s Mykhaylo Mudryk acquisition, he responded, “Although I don’t know Mudryk well, I’ve heard great things about him as a player.
“Although I’m not sure how much truth there is in the claim that Chelsea wants to sabotage any deal for him, they certainly need to be more innovative and pose a greater danger moving ahead. Despite Christian Pulisic’s best efforts recently, Chelsea hasn’t been producing enough offence. They need more players who can join the club and immediately make a difference because Kai Havertz is just half the player he was last year.”
At halftime against Man City, Havertz was given the hook by Potter after the striker handled a corner while attempting to clear it and was careless with the ball. Despite being the team’s leading scorer under Potter, he has had trouble producing the goods.
At the Etihad Stadium, David Datro Fofana took his position after moving there from Molde this month.
