The striker is only one of many transactions the Blues will try to make over the next month in order to bolster their team ahead of a challenging second half of the season.
Benoit Badiashile and Enzo Fernandez are two midfielders Todd Boehly is eager to add to Potter’s options, with the latter already at an extraordinarily advanced stage. However, Fofana has already crossed the finish line and was mentioned by the manager before a crucial game against Manchester City.
Potter responded to a question regarding the strategy for Fofana, who has been linked to an urgent loan move away from the team to continue his development over the remainder of the campaign: “The clearances and other formalities still need to be completed.
He’s been taking a little break, so we’ll give him some time to train, evaluate him, and figure out the best course of action for moving on to the next phase of his career.
Fofana scored 15 goals in 24 games with five assists in the Norwegian division in 2022, but she hasn’t played since November. Days after it was revealed that he was a Chelsea player, he was spotted watching the 1-1 draw between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea from the stands at the City Ground.
He wrote an emotional farewell to his previous team in 2021 before joining them: “I’m entering a new phase of my life, and without you, my coworkers, my coaches, and the carers, none of this would have been possible.
“I appreciate the happy times and how they have helped me develop both as a person and as an athlete. You helped me grow, and for that, I will always be grateful. As Ernie Harwel might put it “It’s time to say goodbye, but I prefer to say hello because I find goodbyes to be depressing. Welcome to a fresh journey!
“Family always.”
Molde gave Fofana his significant playing breakthrough after he left his native Ivory Coast. Prior to that, he played for Abidjan City FC and has represented his nation internationally.
