Stefano Pioli, the manager of AC Milan, was furious with the officials during Tuesday night’s Champions League match against Chelsea.
Chelsea defeated AC Milan 2-0 in a game Milan manager Stefano Pioli had thought would show Chelsea to be the underdog.
Fikayo Tomori was sent for dragging Mason Mount in the box just 18 minutes into the game, which was awful news for Milan.
Chelsea won 2-0 thanks to goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Jorginho, who both calmly converted penalties to put Chelsea in the lead.
Piolo admitted in a post-game interview that he had spoken his views to the referee.
I don’t want to comment, he declared. Even if I don’t speak English very well, I think the referee understood what I said.
Graham Potter said of the firing in a statement to BT Sport: “It’s hard from where I’m sitting. Mason Mount appeared to be through on goal when he appeared to have his hand on him.
“I need to recheck my vision clearly. It’s fantastic that Jorginho scored and that there was a penalty. The action that brought it about was good. What is, is what is. They may target you on occasion.
