Todd Boehly reject N’golo Kante new contract as the Chelsea owner willing to give him free offer
According to reports, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is not ready to give N’golo Kante the deal he desires right now.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Frenchman is reportedly seeking a four-year contract to stay at the club and, if the matter is not settled, he may depart for free next summer.
The 31-year-old hasn’t been a member of the Blues’ roster since suffering an injury against Tottenham late in the second game of the year.
The Blues have struggled to fill the void left by his absence throughout this period, as seen by their mediocre season debut.
Although he won’t be ready for tonight’s crucial Champions League match against AC Milan, Graham Potter provided some good news that his rehabilitation was progressing much better.
Kante might go with no cost.
The negotiations over Kante’s contract will continue regardless of who takes over as manager, according to Mail Online, which claims Boehly is only willing to provide a two-year deal with a third-year option.
A similar arrangement was presented to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when he joined the team at the age of 33.
The article adds, however, that given their similar ages, Kante is using the four-year contract extended to Kalidou Koulibaly earlier this summer as a point of comparison.
There is no one else in football who can do what Kante does to the level he does it, so losing him would be a huge loss for the Blues.
With Jude Bellingham being one of the only clear alternatives available next summer, it would take a world-class signing to even attempt to replace the Frenchman.
Owners should remember how powerful he is when healthy even if they are undoubtedly considering his injury issue when giving him a contract offer.
