There have been signs in numerous exclusives that this has been in the works for some time, and Thomas Tuchel seemed to predict it to some extent.
Others pointed out that John Terry tweeted about Potter out of the Blues two weeks ago.
We’d want to believe that this was all part of a tapping-up attempt by the former Chelsea captain to get Potter onside, or some flirting on his behalf to get on Potter’s first team staff.
But, if you look at JT’s Tweets, you’ll notice that he says things like this rather frequently, which isn’t unexpected considering that Potter was receiving a lot of accolades at the time.
