Tuchel was supported during the summer transfer window, when Chelsea spent nearly £300 million on new players, but the German has now been fired.
The club has confirmed that they have ‘part company’ with the German following their Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club,” the club said in a statement. Thomas has earned a place in Chelsea history after winning the Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup during his time at the club.

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”
The German’s dismissal comes three months after the consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took ownership of Chelsea from previous owner Roman Abramovich.
