Fabio Carvalho will depart Craven Cottage when his contract expires in June, according to Fulham owner Tony Khan. The 19-year-old, who has helped the Cottagers achieve promotion this season with 11 goals and eight assists, is poised to join Liverpool in the summer.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! After failing to complete a deal in January, the Reds have secured an agreement with the Cottagers to recruit Carvalho for a sum that may increase to £7 million, according to the Echo. Jurgen Klopp’s team are definitely not resting on their laurels as they prepare for a new assault on domestic and European glory before the season ends.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will no doubt be looking to cut the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool this summer, but the club will be under new ownership, and their transfer plan following the departure of Roman Abramovich remains unknown. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are both likely to leave on free transfers when their contracts expire next month.
With the announcement that Klopp has signed a two-year contract extension that would keep him at Anfield until 2026, the Reds have no such issues and an aura of security surrounding them. And, with Khan announcing that Carvalho would move Fulham this summer, the German appears to have gotten a jump on his competitors ahead of a hectic summer.
Khan told the Athletic, “I absolutely like Fabio.” “He’s a player we’ve always admired since he came through the academy, and we would have wanted to keep him.” But we’ve negotiated a deal that’s best for the club, and it’s worked out well since then since he’s been such an important part of our promotion.
“Marco [Silva] did a fantastic job with him.” They get along swimmingly, and Fabio has been invaluable to us.
“He’s a significant part of the team, and it’s a huge loss, but since we’ve done well in the past, we can continue to perform well in the future to ensure we’re strong in that position.”
