Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea football club tied 2-2 in their English Premier League matchup at Stamford Bridge on the second day of play. There were two contentious occasions in the game that favoured Antonio Conte’s squad.
The first was the incident that occurred before Danish midfielder Hojbjerg’s goal in the 68th minute. Rodrigo Bentancur fouled Kai Havertz when Tottenham Hotspur was on the counterattack, but referee Martin Taylor chose to dismiss it.
Second, Romero was spotted grooming Marc Cucurella’s hair during the corner kick that led to Tottenham Hotspur’s second goal. Even though he was about to attack Harry Kane, Cucurella was halted by the foul. Although Marc Cucurella was on the ground, Harry Kane still scored from the corner after Romero shoved Cucurella to the ground.
Martin Taylor, the referee, should have sounded his whistle for a foul in these two instances. Romero actually should have been given a red card for that offence because he purposely injured the Spaniard, but not even a yellow one was given. It makes sense why Thomas Tuchel was so upset with the game’s outcome.
