Chelsea’s entire squad for their match against Everton has been published, with Thomas Tuchel dealing with an issue with Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea can take another big step toward securing their place in the Champions League next season with a win over Everton on Sunday. This will be anything from a regular encounter for the Toffees, who are desperate to avoid relegation.
Burnley’s 2-1 victory against Watford on Saturday lifted them back above Everton and even Leeds in the Premier League relegation race, and Frank Lampard will not want to be the man who sends them down for the first time. Lampard will face Thomas Tuchel for the first time since being fired by the club where he is revered, so he may have a point to make.
On Thursday night, Chelsea squandered many excellent opportunities, with Kai Havertz being the biggest culprit despite assisting Marcos Alonso on his goal. Despite reaffirming his trust in his front-line after the game, it has caused him a problem ahead of the encounter against Everton.
“He needs to struggle back into his form,” Tuchel said of Kai Havertz. “I’m in the same boat; I’m experiencing the same feelings.” I’m hoping he responds in some manner. We won’t start throwing fingers at the forwards just yet because they’ve been so poised and efficient in front of goal recently. “Against Southampton and in the Bernabeu triumph, we took our opportunities incredibly well and precisely. It’s a lot like this. We can see Kai and Timo putting in a lot of work and sprinting when we look at the data and evaluate who plays and who doesn’t (Werner). So they don’t come into these games well rested, which is why we’ll always protect them since we play a team game and want a lot off the ball in order to have quick recoveries. But I think that in the previous two weeks, he had a shape and form that would’ve put this game to bed for us.”
The following is the full Chelsea squad for Tuchel’s side:
