The London club earlier announced the 18-year-permanent old’s transfer to Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel continues to build his squad in anticipation of the 2022–23 Premier League season.
Carney Chukwuemeka has finalized his transfer from Aston Villa to Chelsea and has agreed to the terms of a six-year contract, the club announced on its official website.
It comes after earlier this week’s disclosure that a deal had been struck with Villa for the 18-year-long-term old’s transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Following the completion of his relocation to Chelsea, Chukwuemeka said, “I’m simply glad and relieved that it’s all done. It’s been fairly crazy, but I couldn’t get Chelsea out of my thoughts the previous few days.
“I really can’t wait to go on the field, meet all the players, and attempt to win games and trophies with Chelsea. I’m extremely enthusiastic about it.”
Carney is one of the most exciting young players in Europe, therefore we are very looking forward to seeing him in action at Stamford Bridge, according to Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly.
“We are thrilled to be able to add such a brilliant young person to our team for the upcoming season and beyond by being able to bring him to Chelsea.”
Chukwuemeka’s transfer to Chelsea is anticipated to cost an initial £15 million, but further clauses might raise the cost to more than £20 million.
By outbidding Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea was able to sign this exciting 18-year-old midfielder.
