England won the U19 European Championship with a 3-1 victory against Israel.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Young Lions’ captain and one of the star players in England U19’s Euro win was Harvey Vale.
The 18-year-old paid heartfelt homage to his family, 13 members of which he had brought to the game.
“I’ve got 13 people here, my whole family, and I believe my mother is sobbing,” he stated in the post-game interview.
Therefore, I’d want to thank you all for supporting me ever since I was a little child and for driving me on those long distances that I know you people didn’t always want to. It has brought me to this point and means the world to me, so thank you.
He said, “I feel like I can’t even articulate it right now. “Winning a trophy with England has been a goal of mine since I was a little lad.” It’s fantastic, and I’m hoping this is only the beginning.
The England U19 team that won the competition five years ago included Dujon Sterling, Reece James, and Mason Mount. Mason Mount received the UEFA Player of the Tournament title after leading his nation to a 2-1 victory against Portugal.
Before the final, Harvey Vale had mentioned Mount as the source of his motivation.
When I was 14 years old, I watched this event and cheered when they won, thinking of competing in it myself someday, Vale said.
It’s perhaps the biggest game of many of the guys’ careers.
“When we held our pre-camp at St. George’s Park a few weeks ago, Mason stopped by and offered me some words of wisdom on how to handle the pressure, the competition, and other such things. He has been helpful to me.
“Back home, there’s been a lot of commotion! Many compliments and letters from the directors of the club and academy have been sent to me. The Under-23s have all sent me a group message while they are on a preseason trip.
They are all really supportive of us and want us to succeed, hopefully.
At Cobham, Vale, 18, is well regarded, and there are big hopes for the burgeoning midfielder in the years to come.
