Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli (Dutch pronunciation:born 13 May 1993) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Chelsea and the Belgium national team.

In 2011, he joined Chelsea in a transfer worth £10 million (€12 million), but limited playing time resulted in loans to West Bromwich Albion and Everton; in 2014, Lukaku signed with Everton in a then club-record transfer worth £28 million (€32 million), going on to finish as the league’s second-top goalscorer. Kai Havertz
Havertz joined the Blues on September 4 in a deal worth a whopping £310,000 per week – or £16.2m per year.
That instantly made him the club’s top earner ahead of fellow German and summer arrival Timo Werner, who is on a reported £270,000 per week at Stamford Bridge.
But despite their mammoth wages, the pair have struggled to find their best form just yet.
Werner ended a 100-day, 1,000-minute goal drought against Newcastle but for Havertz his return does not make pretty reading.
In the 24 weeks since arriving, he has managed one league goal and three assists despite pocketing £7.4m.
The goal and two of the assists came within three matches in September and October – his only assist since then was in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on January 3.
Chelsea’s other big earners include £50m left-back Ben Chilwell (£190k per week), winger Christian Pulisic (£158k), back-up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£150k), skipper Cesar Azpilicueta (£145k) and midfielder N’Golo Kante (£144k), as per Spotrac’s figures.
Callum Hudson-Odoi – the top-paid academy graduate – picked up £120,000 last week, despite only playing for 31 minutes against Southampton.

Alvaro Morata
A talent at Real Madrid, and a blossoming star at Juventus before joining Chelsea, Morata arrived with high expectations. The last big-name striker the Blues signed from Madrid, in Diego Costa, worked out well, and similar feats were expected from Morata.
He started well, scoring twice off the bench against Burnley on his debut, and his relationship with Cesar Azpilicueta was a thriving one. However, his inability to score big chances began to anger Chelsea fans, and he was soon cast aside.
His 24 goals in 77 games may not sound too bad, especially given how Chelsea’s forwards since Morata’s departure have fared, but the Spaniard cost the Blues a lot of money.
An unorthodox striker to say the least, Morata threatened to break into the elite category of number nine’s across the world, but his lack of consistency was a large contributing factor to his eventual departure from Stamford Bridge.
Not only did Morata cost a club record transfer fee upon arriving at Chelsea (£60 million), but his wages were also astronomical for someone who wasn’t a reliable goal-scorer. Eden Hazard was the only player at the club on higher wages than Morata’s £170,000 per week, with Cesc Fabregas the next highest on £156,000.
Morata was only at Chelsea for 18 months before they loaned him to Atletico Madrid, before selling him permanently to the Spanish side, but he still racked up £13.3m in wages during that time. It was only Atleti’s desperation for a forward that enabled Chelsea to get away with the poor financial situation surrounding Morata at the club.
In total, Morata’s wages and transfer fee add up to £73.3m – a lot of money for just 18 months. That works out at £4m per month, or around £1m per week.
Morata also cost Chelsea over £3m per goal he scored for the club.
Gonzalo Higuain was signed as his replacement, which was another move for a forward that didn’t work out for Chelsea.

Chelsea have completed the signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner for a fee believed to be in the region of €53m (£47.6m/$59m).
The Premier League side confirmed Werner will join the club in July following the completion of the Bundesliga season, subject to passing a medical which has been delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ben Chilwell signed for Leicester’s Premier League rivals Chelsea on 26 August 2020 on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee reported by BBC Sport to be £45 million.
