Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who interestingly faces his former club Leicester, addressed Neto’s injury in a pre-match update. The head coach confirmed that Neto is sidelined due to the knock he picked up during international duty. Additionally, Malo Gusto is out of contention due to illness.

“Malo felt unwell overnight and is unable to play today,” Maresca explained via the Chelsea app. “As for Pedro, he suffered a knock during the international break. While he’s improving, we can’t risk playing him just yet.”

Neto, who joined Chelsea this summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers, had previously spoken about feeling more settled within the team. His performances have indeed been pivotal in establishing him as a regular in the starting lineup, making his absence even more frustrating for fans.
