Chelsea believe that they now have a duo in the squad that can combine perfectly in Enzo Maresca’s system.
Chelsea Confident in Sancho and Madueke as the Perfect Duo in Maresca’s System
Chelsea believe they have found a dynamic duo that can thrive in Enzo Maresca’s system.
Now two months into his reign at Stamford Bridge, head coach Enzo Maresca has begun to settle into his role, with certain patterns emerging in his team selections.
Seven players have started every Premier League game this season: Robert Sanchez, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, and Nicolas Jackson.
However, recent reports suggest that Chelsea are particularly excited about the potential combination of two other players in their lineup.
Chelsea Enthused by Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke Partnership
According to GiveMeSport, the club believes that wingers Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke are the “perfect” pairing for Maresca’s style of play.
Their presence on the flanks allows Cole Palmer, the team’s creative talisman, to play more centrally behind the striker, where he can have the most impact.
Sancho, 24, made his Chelsea debut in the recent league win over Bournemouth, delivering an assist in just 45 minutes of play. His performance was praised by pundit Darren Bent, who was particularly impressed with Sancho’s immediate impact on the left wing.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Madueke has also been on fire this season, scoring four goals in five matches across all competitions for the Blues.
Maresca’s Tactical Blueprint
Those familiar with Maresca’s time at Leicester City will know how crucial wingers are in his system. During Leicester’s Championship-winning campaign last season, wide players Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu played pivotal roles in the team’s attacking success.
Now, Maresca has even more talent at his disposal at Chelsea, with Sancho and Madueke being given the freedom to shine in one-on-one situations and express their creativity when positioned high and wide.
Depth in Chelsea’s Wing Options
Along with Sancho and Madueke, Chelsea also have other strong options in the wide areas, including Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk. Both wingers will be eager to compete for a spot in the starting XI and contribute to the team’s attacking prowess this season.
