Chelsea’s Transfer Business May Not Be Over Despite the Window Closing
Chelsea’s Summer of Significant Squad Changes
Although the transfer window has officially closed, it seems Chelsea’s dealings may not be finished just yet. The Blues underwent significant changes this summer, with numerous new signings arriving at Stamford Bridge. High-profile players like Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Jadon Sancho have been brought in to bolster the squad for what promises to be a demanding season.
Missed Outgoings on Deadline Day
While Chelsea managed to bring in several key players, they were less successful in offloading others, with a few outgoing transfers left unresolved on deadline day. However, reports suggest that Chelsea might take advantage of the Saudi transfer window, which is still open, to finalize some departures.
Al-Nassr’s Interest in Angelo Gabriel
One player linked with a move away is Angelo Gabriel. According to journalist Vene Casagrande, Saudi club Al-Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays, is keen to sign the young Chelsea winger. Al-Nassr has reportedly made multiple offers, but Chelsea is holding out for a £33 million fee.
Casagrande shared on Instagram, “Created by Santos, Ângelo is close to moving to Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club. The Arab team’s plan is for the 19-year-old striker to fill their last U21 foreign slot. Al-Nassr initially offered Chelsea 25 million euros, which was rejected. They then increased their bid to 30 million euros, but Chelsea is demanding 40 million euros. Negotiations are ongoing.”
Angelo’s Potential Departure
Angelo, who has a close connection with fellow Brazilian Andrey Santos—another young talent loaned out to Strasbourg—was reportedly on Chelsea’s list of potential sales this summer. However, a deal was not completed before the transfer window closed for the Premier League.
With the Saudi transfer window closing tonight, time is running out for Al-Nassr to finalize a deal for Angelo Gabriel. As it stands, the 19-year-old is far from breaking into Chelsea’s first team, making a move to Saudi Arabia a potential next step in his career.
