A 2-0 Victory Over Servette
Enzo Maresca has finally secured his first win as Chelsea’s manager, with a 2-0 triumph over Servette in the Conference League last night. The Blues faced a challenging first half against the Swiss team, but they eventually found their stride and came out on top.
Filip Jorgensen Impresses in Debut
Chelsea fans were pleased with the debut performance of their new signing, Filip Jorgensen. His display was a bright spot in the match, but not everything was smooth sailing for the team.
Maresca Keen on Retaining Noni Madueke
Amidst swirling rumors of a potential departure, Maresca expressed his desire to keep Noni Madueke at Stamford Bridge. Speaking to Football London, he emphasized his hope that the Englishman remains with the club beyond the summer.
“I really like Noni,” Maresca stated. “The only issue he might have is the need for consistent effort throughout the week—every training session, every day. But he’s a talented player and has been performing well with us. I definitely want him to stay. However, as long as the transfer window is open, anything is possible. But Noni is the kind of player I like.”
Fierce Competition in Chelsea’s Attack
Chelsea’s attacking lineup is facing stiff competition, especially with the recent additions of Pedro Neto and Joao Felix. Although Madueke hasn’t been a regular starter since his £29m move in January 2023, his recent performances show significant improvement.
On the other hand, Mykhailo Mudryk seems to be struggling, much to the frustration of his new manager. While Madueke is on an upward trajectory, Mudryk appears to be heading in the opposite direction, raising concerns within the club.
