Potential Chelsea Exits This Summer

Several Chelsea players might be on the move this summer. Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr, Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson, Michael Golding, and Lewis Hall have already left Stamford Bridge, netting the club around £89 million in transfer fees. These departures have significantly reduced Enzo Maresca’s overcrowded squad, but co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are still working to find new clubs for more surplus players.

Lukaku’s Future in Doubt

Romelu Lukaku’s hefty salary is a burden for the club, and owner Todd Boehly is keen to offload him. According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli might be interested in a part-exchange deal involving Victor Osimhen.

Gallagher and Atletico Madrid in Talks

Atletico Madrid is reportedly in discussions with Chelsea to sign Conor Gallagher. Although Gallagher is popular among Chelsea fans, his contract expires next year, forcing Boehly and the club to consider selling him for a profit.

The Cobham academy graduate was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour, upsetting many fans, especially given his strong performances towards the end of the 2023/2024 season. Chalobah played in seven of Mauricio Pochettino’s final ten Premier League games, earning praise for his efforts and helping secure a Conference League qualifying spot.

“He was probably our best defender in the last 10-15 games last season,” said Chelsea season ticket holder Bert Barrett to GOAL. “Our form improved massively with him in there instead of Disasi and [Benoit] Badiashile.”

Chalobah Open to Manchester United Move

Chalobah, who is under contract until 2028, might be sold for around £25-30 million. TEAMtalk reports that Manchester United is interested in signing him, with Old Trafford director Ashworth and his team contacting Chalobah’s agents to explore a potential deal. Chalobah would consider a move to Manchester United if the opportunity arises. Meanwhile, Manchester United is also looking to raise funds by selling winger Antony for a reduced fee of £25 million, despite initially signing him for around £81 million.
