Inter Milan is reportedly contemplating include Stefan de Vrij in a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, according to sources.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Since his £97.5 million move to Chelsea, the Belgian has struggled and might return to Inter this summer.
According to La Repubblica, the Serie A club is considering trading Lukaku for a player.
According to the source, Inter are considering incorporating de Vrij in a deal since they cannot afford the huge sum that Chelsea will expect to sell Lukaku.
Lukaku is said to be ‘pushing hard’ to return to Italy, where he had his most productive time in his career.
His lawyer will meet with the Milan-based side to see if an agreement can be reached that would allow the Belgian to return to Italy.
According to the source, signing a contract with the player would not be difficult, but persuading Chelsea to sell might be challenging, with Inter willing to give de Vrij as a bargaining chip.
Chelsea would be hesitant to accept a paid loan for less than €20 million and would insist on a €70 million purchase commitment.
With both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen quitting the club this summer, Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements, although it’s unclear whether they’re interested in de Vrij right now.
