Chelsea Mulls Over Player-Plus-Cash Deal for £50 Million Star
Chelsea is currently contemplating a player-plus-cash offer, involving two of Enzo Maresca’s squad members, in a move for a player valued at £50 million.
Busy Summer at Stamford Bridge
The summer transfer window has been extremely active at Stamford Bridge, even though it’s still early. Todd Boehly, alongside co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, has already secured several deals. These include Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, Brazilian prodigy Estevao Willian, and 18-year-old Aston Villa midfielder Omari Kellyman in a £19 million deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Kellyman joined from Villa while left-back Ian Maatsen moved the other way in a separate deal. This transfer added another promising talent to Chelsea’s squad and offloaded a surplus player for over £34 million.
New Signings on the Horizon
Following these moves, Chelsea is reportedly on the brink of signing Marc Guiu from Barcelona. Additionally, reports suggest Chelsea is close to finalizing a cut-price £17 million deal for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino, below his £20 million release clause (Nick Purewal). Maresca’s team has swiftly bolstered their squad with key additions and promising youngsters. This strategy has been central to Chelsea’s approach since Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich in 2022.
Interest in Dewsbury-Hall and Murillo

This week, reports have linked Chelsea with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to strengthen Maresca’s senior team. Another target is highly-rated Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. Despite signing Tosin, Chelsea is still pursuing Murillo, who impressed with 32 top-flight starts for Forest last season under Steve Cooper and Nuno Espirito Santo. Acquired for about £15 million last summer, Murillo’s stellar performances have increased his value to around £50 million.
Potential Player-Plus-Cash Offer for Murillo
According to UOL, Chelsea is considering a player-plus-cash offer for Murillo. Boehly and his team are hesitant to pay the full £50 million and are exploring the possibility of including two players in the deal along with a lesser amount of cash to secure the transfer.
