Mason Mount is in his third season as a senior professional with the Chelsea squad.
Over the last three years, the academy product has been a significant player for both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.
Mount is one of Chelsea’s lowest-paid players, earning roughly £80,000 per week, and his current contract expires in the summer of 2024.
Following the instability at Chelsea, former Aston Villa fullback Alan Hutton has recommended Mount to explore a transfer to Manchester City or Liverpool.
Hutton remarked in an interview with Football Insider:
“He’s a key player for them; he still has a lot of potential and will continue to improve.”
“When it comes to Chelsea, we don’t know how things will progress.” We have no idea when things will be resolved. It might be six months or perhaps longer. I’m not sure when this takeover will occur.
“I won’t say things go back to normal until it’s sooner rather than later.” But you already know what I’m talking about. They return to their customary running style as a club.”
“Then, hopefully, contract difficulties will be resolved,” he continued. As a result, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Yes, he’ll probably see out next season if he doesn’t get the opportunity to stay at Chelsea.
“He’s in his final year, and then we’re in a different league, and he may move Liverpool or Manchester City.”
