The transfer window has opened, and the Blues will be hoping to make some exciting additions.
According to Andrew Dillon of SunSport, Sevilla’s Jules Kounde is pushing up his attempt to join Chelsea.
Ted Boehly is largely anticipated to provide Thomas Tuchel some finances in order to buy a few key players for the club – and this means Chelsea supporters can start preparing for some huge summer additions, beginning with Kounde.
After it was revealed that both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are leaving the club for Barcelona, Thomas Tuchel is in severe need of defensive reinforcements.
The 23-year-old Kounde has been a long-term priority for the London club, and his signing will be a show of purpose from new owner Boehly, who has said that substantial cash would be available.
A deal for the French defender, who can play right-back or center-back, is believed to cost the Blues about £60 million, and is now a step closer now that the takeover has been completed.
“New owner Todd Boehly has now been granted the green light to acquire the Blues for £4.25 billion from Roman Abramovich,” Dillon told the Sun, “and the defender is pushing up his offer to seal that transfer to Stamford Bridge.”
“Following instability in the West Londoners’ defense, Kounde is certain he will be the first choice next season.”
